if i have a url such as ' is there a class in the standard toolkit which will help me find out the domain (website.com), the folder ( and other useful stuff?

at the moment i'm splitting the string up myself, which is incredibly tedious. surely, there's got to be something out there that'll save me all those damn substring calls.

Take a look at the URI class. It has a "Host" property, plus other properties which will tell you if it's a UNC path, points to a file, or points to a loopback address.
