I want to make a R-type style video game but I have NO FLASH knowledge

Hello! I recently got flash but HAVE NO IDEA on how it really works. I can do somethings (like draw and such) but I don't hvae the knowledge to make the game. For those of you who know what Ritype and Einhander are they are spaceship style games where the ship moves witht he mouse but the background givs the illusion as if the ship is actually going somewhere and other enemy ships fly by and are shooting. I REALLY want to make this game, but I need a lot of advice and help. Please help!
