I have an DB in a SQL 2000, Name is DB1 now I want to make an exact copy that I can give a new name (DB2) and use for tests in the same SQL. How do I do this?

Thanks,
Linkan

Create a new empty database called DB2 the same size as DB1.

Then any time you then want a copy of DB1 backup the database DB1 and restore over the top of DB2.

You might need to sort out users and permissions on DB2 after the restore, as they will be as they were on DB1.

Rick.
