I want to know how to do an effect on a web page , help me please

I've never seen this before , but I had this idea , and i thought that maybe one internet pro could help me

so , what i want to do is :

put a magnifier as a cursor , and like a circunference , it would have a radius , about 3 centimetres . then imagine a black page , with hidden stuff , like images , and where the magnifier was , the things were revealed , by his passage . .

[ im sorry , my english is very bad , im portuguese , and its kinda hard to express myself on this subject =P ]

so , anyone can help me ??

You will need to use javascript, try asking in that forum so some guidance.

i cant use javascript , because this is for my hi5 page , and i dont think it would work .. . it can only be css , or html .. hi5 doesnt support javascript , but correct me if im wrong . ..

Whilst we sometimes may not be particularly intelligent or even professional I think spending time working out how to do an effect on a Hi5 page might be a bit below the bar.

If you can't use Javascript on your, ahem, web page, you can't achieve this effect.

If you want to do this on a grown-up web page, I've seen it decribed as a "flashlight" effect - amazingly one of the first hits I found when Googling for it is in Portuguese:
