The Microsoft web site says there is a switch in the project options to permit editing of the Resume field. I can't find it. I looked through every option and couldn't find it. Can anyone help?

You can add the field to a task view and change the value without having to change any option. The task must have progress (% complete) before the field is calculated. But once calculated you can edit the date by simply typing the new date.

I cannot edit directly in the task view. I assume that you are talking about the table. The resume field (and the Stop field) are locked. Task does show %complete and there is a date in the Resume field. I want to edit that date.

Can you give me the reference to the web page? I am running Project 2010 SP-2 with the April 2014 CU. I can edit the field in both a manually scheduled or autoscheduled task. Ah, wait. Have you disabled splitting tasks? Check File > Options, Schedule and make sure the option "Split in progress tasks" is enabled (checked). It is by default.
