I want to clean re-install IE8

Well since you forgot to tell us what version of windows you are using. for xp or vista go here :

For windows 7 do this : Go to Control Panel\Programs and Features\Turn Windows features on or off. Uncheck Internet Explorer 8, click OK and reboot. You will be not have Internet Explorer installed then. Go to Windows features again and check Internet Explorer 8, reboot. Now you will have Internet Explorer installed again.

Thanks rclarke250. I went to the website (I am using XP) and ran a FixIt program from there. It executed with the following messages:

Data Execution Prevention disabled (fixed)
Smartscreen Filter disabled (fixed)

Do you have any idea what these messages mean?
