We have a couple of old dBase IV tables that will not die. I have to add two date fields to it. Till now, there was no need to modify the table. I know nothing about dBase commands.

I did the following...

1. I went to the dos window
2. I went to the folder
3. I typed the "dbase" command
4. Then use "MyTable" exclusive

What do I do next?

Thanks in advance!

Assuming you were able to to run dBASE for DOS...
USE myTable will open the table you require. You then need to type MODIFY STRUCTURE. This will display the current structure and by scrolling past the last field, you can then add whatever fields you need. Bearing in mind that the software has certain conventions for the naming of fields..no spaces and other unacceptable characters. However, you should have no problem.

Hope this helps
