I am using Windows XP on a HP machine - with an HP keyboard. Two keyboards have the same problem. We have replaced the keyboards but out of curiosity I am wondering whether anybody has had the same problem.

> When I type 1 or 3 on the numeric keypad it sends the following keystrokes: 13Enter

> When I type 7 or 9 on the numeric keypad it sends the following keystrokes: 79+

Has anybody ever come across this before?

Is it a PS/2 or USB keyboard?

Enkrypted
A+

Sorry... It is a PS/2 Keyboard.

If you have replaced the keyboard and the problem persists, then it is likely the PS2 port on the system. Or if you have an adapter cable (PS2 --> AT, USB, etc) it might be that.

I had a similar problem once where any time that I hit a key in the vicinity of F9-F12 it read an additional F11, resizing my browser window each time. It was fairly annoying.
