Here is a diagram of our setup. Lisa and Theresa are on the same subdomain. The mail server is on another subdomain.
Lisa and Theresa now have dynamic ip addresses. This is new. Before we installed a new firewall and dhcp server our mail server worked flawlessly for 5 months!

But now, using the netscape mail client Theresa can send mail to Lisa but when Theresa tries to send mail to the world she gets the message - "sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)"

We use red hat linux 7.3 and qmail.

What do I speecifically need to do so Theresa can mail out to the world using her mail client netscape. Also Theresa can connect to the mailserver and mail out to the world if she uses squirrelmail. She needs to be able to use netscape mail client, however.

All suggestions are welcome. The staff at our library sure would be happy if things were back to normal. Thank you in advance for your help.

Ok I fixed it. I looked at the log for the mail server and noticed the server was seeing everybody as logging in from the gateway ip address, not their computer ip addresses. The gateway was a different subdomain. Once I added that subdomain BINGO. It worked.

I'm glad!
