i think is DNS

Hi All,

Please if some1 can help me with my problem.
I have NT Domain and win2000 servers(DNS Server).
Problem is if i enter in IE

http://nameofserver:port

it will bring page in a 2 sec , but if I enter

http://192.168.x.x:port

some time will open page in 2 min some time in 10 min. i was trying this from 5 different PC and all of them will come with similar results.
I'm not DNS expert.

Sounds like you may be dealing with an internal network. This correct? Need a little more info. Has this been going on all along, or is this something new? Thanks.

If you're having problems with names, it sounds like dns issues. Have you checked your log files and see if there is anything in there? Also, for jollies, create a local hosts file and see if that helps. Good luck.
