Hi all,
I have a client that I built a site for and he would now like me to build a page where he can post parts for sale. He wants to be able to upload pictures and descriptions on his own instead of him relying on me to do this.

What would you all recommend me to do? Is there any sample code I can look at to build something like this?? Would it be best to do a shopping cart or a CMS - or are they pretty much the same?

Thanks!

Sounds like a database driven site, rather than a full-blown CMS. You may find a CMS over-complicated (to install, to template, and to teach your client).

What would you suggest?? Can I do this with an Access Database or will I have to use MySQL?

Take your pick - either db will do.

Access is typically used when you're developing in asp, and running on a windows server.

MySQL usually runs on Linux, with sites often developed using php or perl.

There are fora covering these on TekTips:

forum333 - ASP
forum434 - PHP
forum219 - Perl

actually I have the same 'problem', suppose I do wish to choose for a cms, which is the best for the job?

(since I have little experience with php and none with asp or pearl)

Thanks in advance!
