I want to get GTE DSL which comes with 5 Megs of WEB space.
Can I create my pages like normal but upload using FTP?
Is there such an option in Front Page 2000?
The FREE WEB site on GTE does not have Front Page 2000 Server Extensions installed.
I have used a program called WS_FTP which works good.

But I have gotten used to Front Page 2000 now.
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

Yes, when you are ready to publish your pages you simply do-file, publish web and then in the resulting dialog box enter the FTP url. I've done it even to pre-distributed web addresses using the numeric url after the web hosting site established the proper directories. When the addresses were dispersed I then started using the names.

when you say FTP url is assume its something like ftp://ftp.whatever.com

If my site is <A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
then is
ftp://ftp.gte.net/mywebs/my_actual_web.htm
going to work?
I have never used and FTP url to submit pages anywhere in Front Page or WS_FTP
I just did "open web" in Front Page
<A HREF=" TARGET="_new">
and I'm in.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

One other thing, I hope you're not trying to send pages created by Front Page without removing the FP coding. Go to the html coding tab and make certain you're not sending the FP created coding on your pages and then expecting a non-Front Page site to execute this coding. Have fun.

Oh!!, OK,
Now it makes sense that Front Page is adding some coding to the pages and that's why they are not compatable with standard FTP software.

Thanks
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
