i search a daemon who look in directory

Hi!

i'm just a real novice in AIX environement. and i just would like to know which daemon to use. the daemon i search for is supposed to "scan" a directory. what i mean by scan is "waiting after a new file created in the directory the daemon looking after". and then when this file appear, the daemon should launch a program. i heard that some kind of daemon like exist... so if u heard of it, please just let me know !!

I don't think this is part of the base operating system. If it was, it sounds like it would be a bit of a security nightmare. You'll probably need to get into a bit of scripting, and write a shell script that sleeps most of the time, and every few minutes does it's own search in the directory with ls.
