One fine day i mirrored my rootvg and after couple of days i rebooted my server and it never came up.
When rootvg is mirrored on aix5.2 at level 5.2.0.50 of bos.rte.lvm, the server does not boot.Only solution is to reinstall AIX at either your current level, AIX 5.2, or AIX 5.3. If you reinstall 5.2, reinstall to one hdisk only. Download the latest version of bos.rte.lvm. Once bos.rte.lvm is at 5.2.0.51 or higher, you may extend rootvg to hdisk1 and remirror. If you choose to install 5.3, you may remirror at any time. The defect is only at 5.2.0.50.

???????

I never saw this Problem....
What you mean with "it never came up" ?
Was your rootvg proper mirrored ?
Was your bootlist set to hdisk0 and hdisk1 ?
Have you checked this by booting from cd and access a rootvg ?

What you mean with: If you choose to install 5.3, you may remirror at any time.

Mirroring is based on the pvid of the disks in rootvg.
If you replace a disk it will have another pvid and you need to recreate your mirror.
