I REALLY need your help...!

I have lost all my data for over 75 sites on my Local. I keep good hand records, so I still have all of my login data and ftp info, however, the problem that I am having now is when I 'get' files from my Remote, they upload to my Local and everthing is wonderful.... B U T ! ! ! then when I attempt to open a file that have been downloaded, Dreamweaver opens and then directly closes the file and in that split second, there's nothing on the html page. So, I composed a test page, and then I uploaded it and downloaded it and tried to open it, and the same thing happens. The page open and closes without anything happenning. Please can someone get me some direction.....

What happens if you attempt to open the downloaded html file with notepad (or any text editor)?

I can open the file in other html programs however, I can't open it in Dreamweaver.....

poor advise but how about re-associating file extensions to be opened with DW?

Nope... that's not it...

Besides, I'm using OSX platform.... It has more to do with 'Dreamweaver' itself. I can create a 'new' html file, then save it, and then open it and it WON'T open. As a matter of fact, my tools palette doesn't allow me to choose anything because it's grayed... I really believe it has something to do with the program on my machine. I have trashed it and all of it's associated files and I re-installed it but the same thing happens...

PLEASE!!!! HELP!!! Please....
