How do I activate the IRAD in a CICS 6.0 with IRAD?
Do I have to buy something?

If your software cart says W/IRAD, you already have it.
Otherwise, you need to purchace a key-code to activate it.

Ok, so how do I access it? Do I have to punch down a fax line or somthing to a specific port or what do I do?

Even if you can point me to the appropriate page in the manual to learn it would be appreciated.

I have NRU 10.0.

You can program what line and how quickly the IRAD answers under System Programming->IRAD->

Go in to the CICS Passwords prompt and set a password for it, or it will default to the System ID if you want to use that, it works.
Call into the system on any line, and when someone answers, ask them to press FEATURE 817. That will transfer you to the IRAD. The IRAD will still answer up, even without keycodes, but all you can do is look at the system ID and then you can enter the keycodes (if needed) remotely to activate the IRAD.

Depends on the P/N of your software cartridge. Some are sold with the IRAD pre-enabled. (Pay Now, or Pay Later)
The label will say so, otherwise, you will need to purchase the keycode and activate it.
If you start a session with Remote Set Tools and it goes straight to SYSTEM ID, you know that it is NOT activated and you need the Keycodes to use it.
