When I boot up it stalls at "Conflict I/O ports: 2F8" Tells me to press F1 to continue.

If I press F1 the load continues and everything seems to work fine. C-Drive is fully accessible, programs run, CD-Rom and Floppy are accessible.
How can I get rid of the notations and the pause?

A list of IRQs, COM Ports, I/O Addresses

1 4 3F8
2 3 2F8
3 4 3E8
4 3 2E8
5 4 3E0
6 3 2E0
7 4 338
8 3 238

An error message such you are receiving indicates a piece of hardware is conflicting with another.

In most Bios's you can change or disable the settings for com 2
If you don't use com 2 for anything just disable it

Some computer's automatically uses Com 2 for the modem. Check to see if the conflict can be resolved by removing the modem. If that helps, put it back in and start tracing with "System Properties" > Hardware and see what's conflicting with what.

Two possible causes.

1. BIOS settings have the same IO range specified for two different ports. They must be set differently. Enter your BIOS (most use HIT DEL TO ENTER SETUP) and check those values for your communications ports.

2. Hardware conflict. If you have a communications device such as a modem or extra I/O card installed in your machine, check to see if you can set the input/output range with either jumpers or software. If this is possible, make sure you DISABLE the port in your BIOS for the port you are going to use, so you don't end up with a conflict.

One of these should be the problem you're having!

Good luck!
