I went through this about 2 months ago and fixed it, but it's back again. Users inside the network can connect to the Citrix MetaFram XP server through a web page/ica file to our desktop, no problem. Outside our Raptor firewall users get an I/O error. The firewall seems to be passing all required traffic to the server (TCP port 1494,80,443 UDP 1604). I have the TcpBrowserAddress=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and UseAlternateAddress=1 parms set in the ICA file. The last time I had this problem, I added the httpbrowseraddress= to the ics file, and gave it the INSIDE address of the Citrix machine(the TCPBrowseraddress was set to the outside address). I've tried messing around with these two addresses to no avail. Any suggestions?: I have users across the country who REALLY need to get in.

Couple of possibilities:

On the Citrix server, type "altaddr". If it's not set to the NAT address seen by external users (assuming you're using NAT), make sure you set it ie C:\altaddr /set [alternate address eg. 192.168.0.1]

Also fire up NFUse admin ( and make sure everything there is OK eg if you are using CSG and NAT make sure that in the "Server Side Firewall Options" you have "Use alternate address for Metaframe servers" checked.

Cheers
