I/O error when creating files and directories

Hi all,

I've got the following problem over here :

We have an SSA loop, containing 4 disks, these disks all belong to 1 volume group.2 disks are master, the others are their mirrors.
When I try to make a directory on a filesystem that is located within that VG, i get the following error :

root@servbs:/servb/oradata14 # mkdir test
mkdir: cannot create test.
test: I/O error

root@servbs:/servb/oradata14 # rmdir test
rmdir: test not removed.
I/O error

But the strange thing is : the folder has been created.
when executing "touch myfile" , the file is created, but when I try vi myfile, and try to save it, the file cannot be saved.
First I thought it was a defective harddrive, but in the errorreport, their isn't a single entry, no disk operation error, nothing at all...AIX softsupport claims it is a hardware prob, but all the hardware (except for the drawer ) has been replaced last weekend : optical extenders, harddrives have already been switched, bypasscards, fibers,....Diagnostics don't show anything, the firmwarelevels are the latest for ssa adapters and enclosures.
I am able to create a new Logical volume within that volume group, create filesystems, but when I try file operations, copy to the FS, it simply won't work.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Because I ran out of them :)

One last remark : the volume group is a resource in a HACMP config ( HACMP 5.1 OS : AIX 5.2L )

thx in advance
