Hi,

I have an application based on Oracle 8.1.7. an about 1TB database carrier on 2 x A5200 storage. That is 50%OLPT and 50% long tansaction application.
I'd like to use V880 cluster. V880 has a i/o bandwidth 1,2GB/s. Other servers from Sun have 4.6 or 9.6GB/s.
My opinion is that my bottleneck is FC/AL controlers and disks' speed.
What Your expierience?

Regards
Piotr

This is limitation of I/O busses in V880. Put two dual port HBAs in V880, attach to hubs or directly to A5200s. Don't put more than 1/2 of an A5200 on a single controller (one port on 2 port HBA) and then stripe and mirror across the A5200 chassis.

Make sure each HBA has it's own PCI bus and you should be fine.
