as far as I read up on it I-Net+ may be used in place of the CIW Associate certification.

While I don't have any direct experience with either of these certifications, a simple price comparison shows:
CIW Foundations (1D0-510) $125
i-Net+ (IK0-002) $207
I suppose it really depends on what you see yourself persuing after this exama.
