I need to create a web application using VB.net and Dreamweaver MX. I orginally planned on using SQL Server 2000 as my web server. (I had planned on purchasing the $49 developer version on Aug 1st, but found out that does not allow me to deploy to the web server.) I wish to keep my costs down, so SQL Server 2000 is out of the question.
I have VB.net 2003 Professional (academic version).

Questions:

What are my database options using VB.net?

How does MYSQL work with VB.net?

What lower cost database works best?

Any insight is appreciated....
