This is so simple and I should know it but I dont.
I use Photoshop 7.0

I've been cutting out the backgrounds of pictures and making them transparent. But when I save them, the background saves to white(I need them to be transparent) and when I try to use the pictures for something else I have a white background and pictures over-lapping other pictures.
I need to know how to save the pictures with the transparent background so I can use more than one picture on my project and not get white backgrounds that over-lap the other pictures.

Please help me.
Thanks, Erin

Use the File > Save for WEB (You will need to stick to GIF or PNG format) and somewhere there is a checkbox for transparency.

How are you saving your images. If you have a transparent background, you can either save them as a .psd format or .eps. Are you importing them into another application like Quark or InDesign? You may need to create a clipping path depending on how you are using the images.

I normally save them as JPEG.
Im using them in Neato MediaFace to create a DVD label. We are using 4 different images on the label so you can see why I need all of them to have transparent backgrounds.

JPEG does not support transparency.

- - I hope this helps - -
(Complain to someone else if it doesn't)

GIF, TIFF, PNG, PSD and EPS.

JPG format does not support transparency.

I've saved the pictures under every file possible.
It doesnt work. It has to be MediaFace. Becauase its working for everything else.
If anyone else has any ideas, let me know.
Thanks for the help yall.

it wont paste onto Mediaface..its retarded

When save as in Photoshop, click save and another box will shows up, make sure you check save transparency.

You must save for web, as a gif and click transparency.
I had this problem in Publisher as well and this option does work.

Please explain why saving as a 256 color transparent GIF file is good for printing. Most would think that this is not ideal.

As experienced, MediaFace is not a great layout application. It would be better to create the entire design in Photoshop and export a flattened image for placement in MediaFace.
