i need help with flash 5 hit test

i cant get hit test to work, heck i have no idea where to start, could someone tell me a place that will explain it in about lamens terms, or make an fla for me and everyone else with this problem, repeat- need to find out how to use hit test, learn very slow, think slow so peez speak slow.
