Hi, I am having a problem getting this disconnect dialog to stop comming up... I have windows 98 and internet explorer 6.0...
I have had them both and used them for a long time now.. with no problems that I couldnt help myself with... But this last week, my isp disconnected me, and I was disconnected for a whole week, I am using a local isp, no software or none of that, just a simple dialup number deal..

So anyways, I got reconnected today finally, no every time on iternet explorer when I close it it has a disconnect dialog that asks, "Do you want to close the connection to ****" with yes/no buttons.. Its not the same one that you can tell it not to ask you anymore, I was all over modem options and internet options trying to turn it off, but it doesnt go away, I went to connections and settings and made sure the box was unchecked that said disconnect when nolonger needed... I ran repair on internet explorer, restarted serveral times... It only happens with Internet explorer, It doesnt happen with Outlook Express and It doesnt happen with Netscape, Its just a simple dialog, no special options and I cant seem to disable it....

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know whats wrong or can offer some solutions, cause for me it is quite annoying, I dont even want to try to get used to it, I do not like it.. I dont see how it could be a change in my isp?
Cause they dont have any control over my computer I wouldnt think lol, I mean its just a regular local isp, I set it up myself by hand.., I dunno, if anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it, I am going crazy trying to get rid of it..

I've actually edit my registry so that I can get that message every time I
closed my internet explorer so that I would be automatically disconnect from
the net rather than right click on my connection to close.
To edit your registry so that you don't get that message any more follow
these steps. Note: Back up your registry before any attempt to edit.
Run regedit,
DisableAutodisconnect value in the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion Internet Settings
Change the data value from 01 00 00 00 to 00 00 00 00 After you make this
change and quit Registry Editor, restart your computer.

This site gives info on enabling auto disconnect, follow instructions and
change the above to read all 00, (e.g.. 00 00 00 00)
Hope this helps.
