Hi all,
Came in this morning and my company database is in recovery!

The transaction log grew to 87gig over the weekend. I can't do anything with the database, not even detach it. How can I kill the transaction log, and get this database back online?

thanks for any and all suggestions.

Right click on the DB in question ... go to Properties..Options and set you recovery mode to Simple.

Get out of that and then again right click the DB and choose Task..Shrink..Files and in hte drop down for file type choose Log.

Click OK

Thanks

What does the ERRORLOG say? Did the service restart and the database is still trying to come up? If thats the case you just have to wait.
