I am trying to merge two cells. I keep getting an error message that reads: The selection contains mutiple data values. Merging into one cell will keep the upper-left most data only.
Here's an example of what I'm TRYING to do:
Cell A reads: Y60
Cell B reads: 00123
I want the merged cell to read: Y6000123
This is an extremely large file so I would like a formula that I can drag down the entire sheet.
Thank you in advance for your help.

you can't merge 2 cells that have data in them without losing the data in one of them. in order for you to do what you want to do, use the concatenate function. say for example you wanted cells b1 and c1 together, you would put this formula in cell D1 =CONCATENATE(B1,C1) then you can drag it down or manipulate it as you wish. by the way you can concatenate as many as 30 cells together.
