Well, I like linux for lots of reasons, and having experience with windoze, I hate linux for lots of reasons. At the moment I hate Linux.
Basically I have a RH 7.1 (Linux 2.4.2.2) box running an iptables NAT Firewall. It is doing so over an ISDN modem, which we plan to replace with a DSL NIC soon.
I want to be able to access a VPN server, via my Linux Gateway. I have already successfully routed VPN protocols using DNAT and SNAT thru the firewall into a Win2k server. Unfortunately this compromises the AH encryption , and reduces the overall security. I want the Linux box to present a VPN server to NT clients, over the internet, and I have installed pptpd (version 1.1.2) and when I try to run the pptpd file from the /usr/sbin directory (as root) I only get
createHostSocket: Address already in use
..And I can't get around it. I really don't know much about Linux so go easy on me. How do I free up the ports pptpd is trying to use?
Please help
