How can I setup Exchange 2003 to use Secure SMTP. In other words I want to be prompted for authentication on outbound emails.

I want to be able to give my 3rd Party application the SMTP Server and port number so that it can send emails but I want to be prompted for authentication from Exchange during this process.

Thanks

Exchange uses integrated Windows security / NTLM for authentication so you could remove that to achieve what you want.

But why are you sending outbound emails via Exchange? Why not do it direct?

Also, why does your third party app need to use authenticated sSMTP? I don't see the benefit.
