i need enlightenment...
say, my Trading Partner ABC will be upgrading from version 3060 to 4030. Does it mean that all of the trasaction sets (for tp ABC @ V 3060) that i have setup in my Gentran software has to be upgraded to 4030? ALL meaning, 850,856,810,860,855. If so, is that the standard practice? Is it possible for versions to co-exist as long as they match the specific partners requirements?

Thanx a lot for any bright light!

It is not a requirement for all TP's to upgrade. Gentran allows for you to support muliple versions. I currently support 3060, 4010 and 4030 in both X12 and UCS standards. It is all in how your TP definitions are set.
