I need a script to move backups (like vaulting)

In our shop we have a lot of backups that run very very sloow. The reason is that it's backups of Win2K fileshares with a lot of very small files.

What I would like to do is to use disk the backup media, and then later just duplicate the backups to tape, but I would like to do this automatic.

At the moment I don't have the USD 12.500 for the entry level version of vaulting, so I would like to know if someone could help me with a script that could do this for me.
And leaving the backups on disk is not an option.

NBU is FP3 on Win2K.
