hi
can anyone supply a pinout for the 355a partner adapter that takes the db25 on the processor to a rj45 for smdr use

thanks

DB-25 RJ-45

OK...but I have a processor with an 8 pin modular plug for my SMDR out. Is the conversion to DB-25 the same on this? I need to know what pins 1-8 on the modular plug are so I can connect that to a serial printer. It is only my opinion, based on my experience and education...I am always willing to learn, educate me!

This is what I have in my notes:

The pin out sequence is:
Mod Plug                            25 DB male
1                        to                     22
2                        to                    6 and 8
3                        to                     20
4                        to                      7
5                        to                      3
6                        to                      2
7 not used
8 not used

The connections are as follows
RJ45 (9Pin Female)
1 9
2 8,6,1
3 4
4 5
5 2
6 3

So there are two separate pinouts, one for a DB-25, the other for a DB-9.

Hope this helps.

Make your adapter the way I showed, use a straight thru 8 pin patchcord from the SMDR port to your adapter. You can buy the DB-25 to RJ-45 or DB-9 to RJ-45 Adapters just about anywhere that sells computer parts.
