I might be inheriting an NBU 4.5 environment to provide restores only.

My enviroment is NBU 5.1 MP5 with LTO2 tapes.

Is it possible to restore LTO1 tapes using an LTO2 tape drive?

Can I restore backups for a 4.5 client using my 5.1 enviroment?

I don't think I can do this but I have to ask: Can I merge a 4.5 catalog with my 5.1 catalog? What I'm looking for is a way to avoid importing tapes every time I have to run a restore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
