If you "sent the DOS program to the recycle bin" then getting it back would be simple (see Windwos Help on "undeleting files". If you were more thorough than that you will need to use some utility to recover it.
BUT is this what you meant?
The title looked more like you had lsot access to DOS mode with Windows 2000 and if this is the case then I am interested to compare notes. If you have lost access to DOS mode this could be a problem with teh NTVDM (NT Virtual DOS Machine) and there are details in the Troubleshooting guide of the Help for Windows.
i thought dos can be run from the start menu, cmd, that doesnt work
i thought you can find it under start->programs->accessories, not there
i thought it is located under winnt/system32/cmd, nothing
other programs seem to call it up, but i cant find it
there is one shortcut with the dos icon, but it seems to be trying to do something and closes before i can use it.
