I lost contacts when opening new contacts

I used to be able to get the contacts list from new message
open and contacts folder. Now my contacts disappeared.

How do I get them back?

I can see them in Contacts folder, but I am having problems when I try to forward emails to someone in my contact folder.

Try this:

Right click on your contacts folder
Choose "properties"
Click the "Outlook Address Book" tab
Check the box that says "show this folder as an e-mail address book"
Click "ok"
