I'm perplexed

About every 3 weeks or so, I will lose my wireless connection and I cant figure out why.

Normally what will happen is, it will stop and I will get a message on the Linksys wireless monitor that states "You are connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found".

I have a desktop with a linksys wireless card connected to my TV. In line of sight about 15 feet away, is the access point connected to my Linksys Router.

My OS is WinXP Media Center on a COMPAC that is less than a year old. My Windows Firewall is off, I have an (expired) version of Trend Micro, Windows Defender and Windows Washer installed on it.

I noticed 2 other neighboors that I can sniff on the monitor, I have tried everything in my scope of expertise to reconnect (i.e., reboot, reboot router, re connect to access point, etc.)

Anything I'm not doing, or any other information I can give you would be welcomed.

Thanks

Jeff

What is your ISP - Cable or a DSl connection?

They are both different on how to fix this problem.

What I did was re install the drivers for the Linksys wireless card, then re installed them and re booted it.

For some unknown reason, It fixed it.

Thanks all the same.
