I installed a fax, but it doesn't work... 1

Hai..<br>I'm having problems with installing the fax-options within windows 98.<br>I followed every discription...<br>But Exchange soesn't even run...I can't open it..<br>So I am not able to send a fax...<br>I hope that you understand my problem.. and that you'll help me...<br>Thanks any way<br>Greetz Wendy

What sort of fax is it . Is it a modem / fax ?. You need a modem and driver software for the modem . Or you have a P.C. in a network that has a modem and is setup as a fax server .

If you are referring to going into the old Win 95 mail and fax files on the OEM CD be careful. Hi, <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If you install Office 2000, the exchange server won't work anymore..! You must re-install it if you want to us it. <br><br>If your using a separate software, e.g. Faxport, it won't work with Winmodem (3Com or U.S. Robotics..!!) Yep..!<br><br>The Office software is installing himself over everything.. that's why, a lot of people are having problems after the installation.<br><br>If you don't have a 3Com Winmodem, I suggest you use Faxport from <A HREF="

Al,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Microsoft Fax, to work, it needs Exchange. In the Office suite, Outlook is there and install his exchange in order to work.<br><br>There's the problem.. You must be sure to have uninstalled the Microsoft Fax and his Exchange if you want the Office to work properly. Microsoft techs said so too..&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>That's why you are not able to send fax, it's all because of the exchange server.
