Hi

SSRS2005

I have a matrix and it generates its columns from the data. There will always be 11 columns and they have a specific naming convention to make the sortable, etc. I want to replace these column names when the report is displayed with more user friendly versions, but could not find a way, and thought it will be best to overlay text boxes where the columns will be generated and use the "Send to Front" setting on these text boxes, and "Send to Back" on the matrix. The proble is that it moves the text boxes to the right after the matrix and does not show them where I placed them in the layout page.

Can anyone help??

Hey Eo - I did something similar a while back

I had the users able to select what they wanted along the side and along the top to aid in summation and sorting.

SO - I did something like this on the column header
Code:
=Fields(Parameters!SideSlicer.Value).Value
I know that this post helped me out a few years back to figure out how to make the reports more user friendly/definable
give that a look and let me know if you need more info.
