I have built a library of macros and installed it in the XLSTART directory. When it was initially installed my XLMacroLib.xla file was displayed in the Explorer window but DID NOT end up actually opening a spreadsheet or being displayed as an open worksheet. It does now. When Excel opens I would like it not to display the XLMacroLib or any other worksheets as the default. Temporarily I have kluged it to open a new worksheet so the XLMacroLib Sheet1 is not the ActiveSheet. I've explorered newsgroups, help files, and books but have not discovered how to accomplish this. Granted, most coverage on libraries is extremely sparse. ----------------------

In the VB editor, select the "ThisWorkbook" object and in the properties change IsAddin to True. Be sure that the modules are named something that won't likely conflict with new macros you might write in the future.

If the workbook is saved in the XLStart folder and IsAddin=true, it will always open, won't display at all in the Excel window, and you can still execute its macros through the Macro window by specifying ModuleName.MacroName. You don't need to specify which workbook its in.

Thanks! Your help was right on. Tracking down the answer was costing to much time and driving me nuts.
