I have an 8x24 w/ DR5 Software trying to add Copper DID's onto the system. I have everything programmed correctly, even called Nortel for support but they did not have much info on this particular switch & software. I have the line#'s assigned as DID lines/ setup with Winkstart to match the C.O./ have 3 digit revceive #'s to match the C.O./ and have my target lines programmed appropriately, with prime sets. However, when calling one of the DID's the system picks up right away w/ dial tone. If one of the 3 digit target line received #'s are dialed you will then be routed to the correct phone it should be ringing in on. I checked to make sure there was no Disa DN programmed nor Answer DN setup. Any ideas?

Hmm, nortel won't support the 8x24? I would first double check and then check again what the telco is providing:

* Is it really a wink
* Are they providing 3 digits or none at all

It sounds like your trunk is configured correctly if you can dial the 3 digits yourself.

Hope this is helpful, your config seems okay.

We had this problem once and if I remember right we weren't getting good wink from the c.o.
Hook your butt-set up right to the incoming did trunk from the c.o. Go off hook and watch the lights on the butt-set. You should see them wink at you (flash from red to green or green to red). If I remember right that was the problem. Also, we always request four digits from the c.o. and have never tried 3 digits. Not sure if the problem might be in that but I doubt it.

Double check your individual lines and make sure that they are all set to DID. For instance, if one were set to E&M (for two-way DIDs) and auto answer then the prompt Answer with DISA will come up and it is default set to YES. MRoberts
