I have a win2k computer that i'm trying to put on my 60+ computer network, but it's not seeing the network. I can ping any computer on the network and get responses. I can do a loopback ping and it works. I have the TCP/IP set and working same as the rest of the building, as well as netBUI, but i still cant see the network. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

What ping do you mean? Did you ping your new Win2k machine? Or from it?
I suppose that you are referring that IP stack is correctly loaded and function correctly.
Then, "I can't see the network" what is? Are you trying to go to Network Neighb. and you cannot browse it?

Pinging the network and itself worked. Cannot browse the network neighborhood is correct..

Then the NetBIOS name resolution is not working.
What network do you have there? Win NT? have you WINS server? For so many computers you have there I recomand you to have one.
Is it in a different workgroup? Does it belongs to a domain?

Many questions, I know, but you have to provide more information if you need help. Gia Betiu

Can you go to windows explorer and type in \\servername? I have the same problem with some of my pc's don't see the domain, all they see is a novell server. But if I type in \\servername the immediately comes back with \\domainname\servername and shows all three servers. I think it's a nic thing but I'm not sure. I can only add printers that are loaded on w2k server by manually typing \\servername\printersharename. Strange but it works. I've got a thread out there now trying to figure it out. Glen A. Johnson
