I have a Sp system with two Nodes. We are planning to shift the whole setup to a new office. The IP address of the nodes and the control workstation are going to change. will this affect my kerberos. I want to rebuild the kerberos database too since i get this message continuously.

cmdtgt: 2502-052 Error getting service ticket for rcmd.ariaen1@STARBASE187EN0
2504-008 Kerberos principal unknown.
2502-603 You do not have Kerberos credentials.
kdestroy: 2502-000 No tickets to destroy.

Pl Help.

Not sure if you are talking the main en0 on the nodes that connect to the CWS
and the CWS IP...
but this is major...there is some documentation on it at the SP sites..
but generally when you change the IP addresses on the CWS and the nodes,
it is easier to reload everything....to get the kerberos and the SDR correct...
I believe it can be done....but I redid everything when I did it....up to you.
Read the doc and see what steps are required....

changing IP steps: appendix F of Administrative guide...

I dont want to change the en0 address i just want to change the IP address of en1 . Can't this be done like we do it for any other workstation. By the way what do u mean by reloading "everything" ?.
Thanks for ur help.

If you leave the IP address alone for en0 on the nodes....and the one IP that the CWS talks to them with, you are ok in that section......but if you change the main IP for the CWS and its name... you may have a problems since that data is in the SDR.. and it is incorporated in the nodes....the nodes get info from it...and a lot of that stuff is coded by IP etc.... You might want to change IP addresses...with the current cws and then
see where you are before introducing a new cws with new port locations, different drivers etc...

The docs above talks about all scenerios for you...so it should be helpful....go there and print it out and be sure before you change anything...something simple can break kerberos, and also access to the nodes......If you change something the nodes needs to get information, or hostname changed....it is a nightmare to try and fix something...

By reload...I mean reload the cws as if starting from scratch..doing a new CWS setup and then customizing the nodes.....since it is only the second IP that is changing on them...not the primary one......it should be easier...AGain read the docs above
html links.... It gives you everything you need to know but were afraid to ask.
