Hello. I'm new to this forum, but you will se me around some more.

I'll explain my situation. Basically, I'm an editor that is being trained in the use of some softwares; PageMaker included.

I'm not very proficient using it, so if my question seems basic, I'll apologize, but I have to start somewhere, right?

I have an assigment: a Pagemaker file was sent to me but the file don't really look god. I do not have the fonts (PageMaker says that it is replacing fonts) and when the book come up, it come with a very strange looking font, and the layout of the document get affected by this.

Do you know how can i find all kind of fonts so the file load up right and don't replace fonts? And how can I add it to my PageMaker?

Do you have some newbie guide I can use so I don't ask any more stupid questions?

Thank you very much for reading up to this point.

Yes, your publication will alter if the fonts are changed. You also need to make sure your "Compose to" printer is the same as the original designer's.

Ideally you need to install the correct font, and all should be well. However fonts are licensed, and generally speaking need to be purchased rather than just copied.
