i would like to be able to get it to look like a plain word document without the table frames visible. basically i want it to look like it prints. as is, it looks bad if its emailed as an attachment.
Senjen: Your recipient may not have the "show gridlines" option turned on and may not be able to see the gridlines. I'd like to say that using tables is very common in resumes and if they do see the gridlines, they may actually think "hey, this person knows what they're doing in Word!" So you see, it may not be such a bad thing.
Anyway, what happens if you save it in RTF? Do you lose the layout along with the table? If you have Word 2000, you shouldn't.
I'm very good with Word, so if you can't make it work, just email your resume to me. I'll see what I can do.

Just Curious why is it in excel. Since excel is a spreadsheet made for numbers and Word is for text.
Remember, just cause you can learn to drive a car with your feet, doesnt mean you should.
If I saw a resume in Excel (I use to screen resumes at my former job), I would assume this person really didnt know what they were doing. Just cause you could get a excel spreadsheet to look like Word, why do it?
Darn! I looked all over for it and couldn't find it and as soon as I hit Submit, I saw the link to "emoticons/smileys" at the bottom. They'll show you bunches of 'em. s-)
