I HAVE A PRINTER IN WIN. NT WORKSTATION, THA PRINTER IS SHARING. I INSTALL A PRINTER IN WIN98, THE PRINTER CONNECT TO THE NT WORKSTATION PRINTER SHARING, BUT WHEN I PRINT A TEST PAGE, THE PRINTER IN NT WORKSTATION NO RESPONS AND THE PRINTER IN WIN98 NO HAVE AN ERROR.

PLEASE SOME BODY HELP ME.

I beleive the network setup is perfectly o.k. Since the nt-wrkst printer is shared, normally one would install the printer driver from the nt-node(provided you have the particular os driver). Otherwise go to the 98 wrkst - settings - printer and in the properties see whether the path of the share on nt is given in the 'print to the following port' option. Since the printer is attached to the nt node and is not responding, it means that a connection is not being made. Check if the printer is on and responding to the requests from the nt node. Also check if everyone/user has print permission in the security tab of the printer share(off course if its ntfs..)

Hope this helps you. wiedersehn
