I have a PC with a static IP addres

I have a PC with a static IP address on the internet connection through a router with a static I can ping

http://www.yahoo.com

and

http://www.microsoft.com

but nothing in IE.
Any ideas as I am stumped, I have double checked the settings and the ISP say everything is correct.

What type of connection? DSL? Cable?

Have you tried accessing any sites by ip address? Like

http://216.109.118.65

or

http://207.46.245.222?

If these work, then it's a DNS problem.

Thanks for you help it was a DNS error and it was down to the ISP which is now resolved.
