I have a friend that is supporting an OPT11C on rls 23.35. The system started to crash( crackling noise, loose dialtone, can't transmit calls) I went to solution of Nortel and the suggestion is to upgrade the ssc card with a new vintage. problem is that, to upgrade you need the software and that Rls is already retired. Any idea where he can get the retire rls.

The best thing to do is to contact your local vendor and let them give you all the options.

or I believe the daughter board is the same vintage and that holds all your programming. Simply move the daughter board over to your new SSC card and it should work with all your programming intact.

buying an upgrade through a vendor may be the only solution. they (we) can get that vintage via downlaod. since nortel does not support that rls an upgrade may be the only solution. it's always a problem when you let your rls get that far behind.. no one would try to support a nework running dos but a rls that was new when windows 1.0 was the best we had.

There are many 3rd party vendors out the that still support the older systems that Nortel doesn't support. You can still get refurb equipment with out any problem.
