I have a financial accounting database where accounts have been divided into 2 types. Profit & loss accounts and Balance Sheet accounts. For desigining Balance Sheet in PowerPlay, I want to create some time dimension which will create running totals dynamically. e.g. My data starts from Year 2000. If I have to generate Balance sheet for June 2002, I have to total up Y2000, Y2001 and first 2 quarters of Y2002. And I can do this only in reporter mode. Is there any way of creating a time dimension dynamically which will hold running totals upto each month.
I am expecting time dimension as follows :
Upto Jan,2002 : This will hold balances from Jan 2000 to Jan 2002.
Upto Feb,2002 : This will hold balances from Jan 2000 to Feb 2002.
Upto Mar,2002 : This will hold balances from Jan 2000 to Mar 2002. and so on ...............
I will appreciate if anybody can contribute on this. I have tried Life-to-date time categories, but somehow was unable to get desired results.

You can create a a special category in your time dimension I.e. balance Sheets and Under that create special categories for each month and manually add in the years and months that make up that months Balance sheet

Hope this helps Gary Parker
