I have switched our office over to the MCD 3300 4.1 SP2. We are using MAS with Nupoint for our voicemail. There are a few minor things that I need to get working.

1. A direct transfer to a mailbox. -- I have read the posts regarding the ACD or the Voice Hunt Group using *nnnn (nnnn is the extension number) and it transfers to the voicemail but it goes direct to the mailbox login and not the greeting.

2. dialing the operator from a mailbox.

3. Caller ID is not being forwarded to the Nupoint. Messages always say from an unkown caller.

4. And I know this one is a big one. Advanced UM. I have setup the Nupoint UM with IMAP and LDAP and everything looks good but the users do not recieve an email when they get a new voicemail.

I know i am asking alot and I am currently working with Tech Support but I was hoping you guys could help me along a little.

Thanks

1. Regarding option 1, I have never tried that with nupoint but this was a way to setup an xfer to voicemail with the embedded system. Basically, you would setup a bunch of *5555 (5555=extension number). Then you go to call rerouting always form and reroute these entries to voicemail.

2. I believe you need to look at the attendant option of each users mailbox to set this up.

3. Check the COS of your voicemail ports on the 3300 make sure the 3 CID options are enables (display ANI/DNIS ....)

4. The users need to login to the my unified communications portal and enter thier domain credentials in the nupoint section.

Hope this gets you started in the right direction.

1 - the shortcut methods in the FAQ page relate only to the Embedded mail. I have yet to find a way to duplicate the method on the 3300.

2 - Need more details. User logged into mailbox? Greeting being played? other?

3 - cknipe answered - Check COS of ports.

4 - User credentials is one method - Superuser is another. Also try opening a telnet session to your Enterprise server on port 443 to make sure the port is open.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

1. For direct transfer to voicemail create phantom DNs (6+ mailbox number - ex. for mailbox 555 create 6555) - reroute these always to nupoint pilot DN
On the nupoint in each mailbox add these phantom DNs to the alternate extension field in the mailbox (the alternate extension field does not accept a * or # otherwise I would set is similar to the embedded)

Then just transfer then 6+mailbox number hang up.

Takes a while if you have alot of mailboxes though.

Note - extension length must be set to 'v' in the dial plan of the line group.

3. COS of voicemail ports and FCOS of mailbox (bits 262, 263, 264, 280)
