I have a Abit BE6-II motherboard with a Intel 440BX/ZX chipset. I would like to know if you can upgrade or flash the chip to a newer version? If so how?
Thank You; Hal

I think you meant upgrade/flash the BIOS, right ?

I used that MB last year. I don't remember the exact date for the latest BE6-II BIOS, but it's around 2001 for the year. Check out your MB first. If your BIOS date is in same year then probably you have the latest one.

If not, you can download an upgrade BIOS from abit site
BE6-II has three version so be careful. Check your manual and your MB version (on the PCB) before you download.

There are two files you need to download, Award flash (AWDFLASH.EXE) and the BIOS file itself. Follow the instruction that given from abit site carefully!
